One run games

We started play today at the huntsman senior games today and had three games starting at 3.  We lost our first game by one run 10-9 (I think).  Cynde was in right, I pitched and Carri was my catcher.   Carri has been awesome in the lead off position.  In our second game we beat the Oregon Reign by one run and I hit a bases loaded double to score Cynde and win the game.  Carri played left field and it was just going from afternoon to evening under the lights. I played second and loved every minute of it! In our third game we had a thrilling game against Florida and won 15-14.  It was a back and forth game with loads of good plays and hits.  The game ended with a double play - there was a catch in left and then a throw to first and the runner was called out as she didn't tag up.  Carri was in right, Cynde the rover and I pitched. There was no turkey dinner just a turkey sandwich and turkey popcorn....just kidding we pretended it was turkey.  We do have pumpkin loaf for breakfast.

It's a golden day

Well we did it!   Went undefeated to win the gold medal beating the Subway Sluggers from PEI 11-4 in the final.  It was a bit back in forth in the beginning we got out to a 2 zip lead then they scored 3.  We were rallying with bases loaded none out and they ended up getting a triple play on a hard liner to left.  I was a bit worried when that happened.  Next up we loaded the bases again and our pitcher Tania hit a double to score three.  We gave up one in the top of the inning and then we loaded the bases again and Rosie hit a double to give us the seven runs needed in the fifth to mercy.  She had pitched the win to get us to the gold and is 55 like me so it was sweet.  I started the game in right and Cynde took over for me.  Marla was in left field and made a couple nice catches. We then took tons of photos and started trading with the other teams while celebrating with a beer in the beer gardens ( well rum and coke for me - yes hard stuff ...

We won the gold and we didn't have to come from behind this game!  Fire and Ice jumped out to a 5 zip lead and then led 8-0 after two innings.  Running out of time scored a couple and then made it close before we scored another 5 and held on for a 13-7 win.  We played great defensively with a double play that could have been a triple play and some timely catches in the outfield.   Most of the team now moves up to the 55 plus division with play starting Monday.  Time for some pool time.

A little slow to get to the blog going due to poor internet connections and poor life choices lol!  Who knew we could still pull an all nighter! So much fun here on days one-two.  We arrived to gorgeous warm weather and checked into Ballys to begin an awesome night.  We got our $250 JLo money (she cancelled her concert and the hotel gave us money for the tickets we had been comped - go figure) and hit the slot floor.  After a few wins, plenty of alcohol, pizza for dinner and some awesome dance moves we were surprised to see the sun coming up so we went to McDonalds for breakfast and some of us managed to eat.  More slots and a $1000 win for me and coach Cynde we headed home for a short nap- long sun burn at the pool.  A great steak dinner at Paris and we have leftover steak, cheesecake and chocolate cake for our Thanksgiving breakfast.  Might even a drink of Captain Morgan pumpkin spiced rum today!  We are so thankful for this trip!  Enjoy yo...
