We have finished our bowling and I think both teams are happy to be done. The different lanes were very hard to adjust to and there were a couple 214 games from Franca and Kim but otherwise nothing stellar. Cynde and I did well on our doubles today beating the other girls from our team haha. It was a rough day for Angela who celebrated her birthday yesterday and we all had a fun time! Met some awesome people at the National Bowling Centre and sure made an impression singing Oh Canada and celebrating our strike balls! One of the workers even brought us all pins. Sure different from ball - our registration package there got us a shirt and all kinds of sample snacks and coupons. Our bowling registration got us nothing. Tonight we went to bingo and boy there were some strange people there. It was something different and Maria won $40. The gambling here is not so good - no big wins for me and Cynde and we would rather go to Vegas any day. Think shopping is on the schedule for tom...

We are here in Reno. Our flight was delayed out of Vegas on Thursday and the winds almost cancelled our flight but we got here. Not sunny at all which was disappointing. The silver legacy hotel is nice but it's right in the downtown area and that's not so nice. The bowling girls got here Thursday night minus one set of luggage. We paraded our bowling bags through the casino yesterday and headed to the National Bowling Center. It's huge but there were only four teams bowling and we weren't two of them! We bowled so poorly ugh! Our team event was not a success but we did a bit better on our first doubles set. Today it's singles and a second set of doubles. After bowling it was dress up night and our free buffet to celebrate Angela's birthday. So fun but my feet are sore today. Great view out our window but can't figure out how to add a photo to this blog.

Sad to say we are leaving St. George without a medal. We lost this morning 16-10.  We scored four runs in the top,of the first and I thought it was in the bag but they scored five and just kept hitting.  I pitched, Cynde caught and Carri was in the field.  It ended way too early for us but that's why you play the game because you never know what can happen.  We eased our pain with a tailgate party and then headed back to the hotel to figure out how we were going to pack all our stuff.  We have way too much plus we have to have bowling gear as well as ball gear so we bought an extra suitcase and will check it with our four bottles.  Yes the bowlers are expecting treats haha!  Cynde and I headed back to Vegas and unloaded the rental car before walking the strip and enjoying Chipotle for dinner.  Tomorrow it's off to Reno.  Hope the storm doesn't cause any delays for the team!

Two games today and a missed opportunity.  We lost out first game by two runs and really didn't play all that great... Can you say 13 errors and quiet bats?  That was us.  We got knocked down to the losers bracket and now have to win to keep playing and we did just that in our second game.  We beat the Old Bats 16-6 and that's not quite a mercy as a mercy is by 12 runs here not ten.  Now we play tomorrow at 830 and will play back to back to back as long as we win.  In the first game I pitched and Cynde played right center.  In the second game I pitched and Carri played right field.  Carri was great in the lead off position and I hit a triple.  Super hot this afternoon after an overcast morning.  Two trips to the hot tub to help our old bones.  Looking forward to tomorrow!

We started play today at the huntsman senior games today and had three games starting at 3.  We lost our first game by one run 10-9 (I think).  Cynde was in right, I pitched and Carri was my catcher.   Carri has been awesome in the lead off position.  In our second game we beat the Oregon Reign by one run and I hit a bases loaded double to score Cynde and win the game.  Carri played left field and it was just going from afternoon to evening under the lights. I played second and loved every minute of it! In our third game we had a thrilling game against Florida and won 15-14.  It was a back and forth game with loads of good plays and hits.  The game ended with a double play - there was a catch in left and then a throw to first and the runner was called out as she didn't tag up.  Carri was in right, Cynde the rover and I pitched. Okay sorry fans we are a few days behind on our blog.  Left Vegas after two upgrades to the rental car and a quick stop at the factory outlet....okay not so quick.  I was a bit nervous driving through Vegas but once on the highway it was fine.  We were going to stop and play catch but never did.  We stopped at Lee's Liquor store and oohed and awed over the cheap prices and huge bottles.  Sailor Jerry wanted to come home with me but I said no!  Pumpkin spice baileys is really good!  They were sold out of almond tequila but cousin Carri saved the day with a bottle for us.  We will try for another on the way back. We made it to St.  George in time for cocktails at 830 and then the cousins chatted to catch up.  Today we headed to register and got our free shirt and goodies then off to Ross and Olive Garden before a hot practise.  Rushed to a sports bar for the jays game wahoo! Just hanging our in the room before a visit to the pool.  Glorious sunny day here.  Spent yesterday at the pool watched the Jays kick butt and treated my sister to a dinner sandwich at 1030....well half a sandwich.  Tummies a bit upset after getting our crown on!  Don't know why but crown and coke was our drink last night and we aren't used to all that coke lol!  Going to walk the strip and maybe visit our friend Ross.  Lots of new games none good to us but we did see a man win $6000 on a quick hit machine.  Happy Friday !

Just finished a $63 breakfast at the San Francisco airport and yes we had baileys in our coffee.  Luckily the airline gave us $30 each in meal vouchers and a free night at the Crowne Plaza hotel.  Great bed for our 4 hours of sleep.  Should hit Vegas in time to cheer on the Jays!

Our question as to whether we stay up tonight and gamble or go to bed has been answered.  We are staying in San Francisco.  Our 645 pm is delayed to 930pm so we miss our connection to Vegas.  Those poor airline agents have been working like crazy to reschedule things.  Good thing we don't have to be anywhere too quick tomorrow.

And we are off for Comox - Vancouver - San Francisco and Vegas - St. George, Utah- Vegas and Reno. Can't wait to meet our bowlers in Reno and our ball players in Utah! Reply Delete

Okay here's the start of our busy week - organized a 3 day scrapbook crop for 30 of my closest friends, trying to get Dad into a home, meeting tonight for our ball trip to New Zealand, last minute packing oh....and another bake sale.
